McNest
McNest at Currie Primary
McNest is our Family Support Programme. The MC in McNest is derived from Mountcollyer High School which was the original use of our school building before it closed its doors in 1986. It is important that we keep in mind a little of the history when we are planning for the future! The Nest in McNest reflects how we nurture everyone at Currie Primary & Nursery Unit.
Our MCNest programme supports parents and carers through three strands. Parents/carers as ‘self’, ‘coeducators’ and ‘contributors to society’.
We work with community groups, outside agencies and school staff to deliver a programme to parents and carers throughout the school year in response to what has been requested.
We were delighted to start our Parent and Toddler group in 2023-24 and it has been lovely to welcome so many parents/carers with their little ones each Tuesday.
Rebecca from Eden Consulting supports our McNest programme working to empower parents and carers to support children with additional needs in particular neuro-diversity. We look forward to continuing this work in 2024-25.
We will launch our 2024-25 programme on Friday 27th September when we have our annual MacMillan Coffee morning and look forward to seeing lots of parents and carers getting involved as we work in partnership with our children at the centre of all that we do!
